Ink Rejuvenation: DIY Tattoo Butter Balm Recipe for Nourishing Old Tats

Have you ever looked at your old tattoos and felt the need to give them a little extra love and care? Over time, tattoos can lose some of their vibrancy and moisture, leaving them looking a bit dull. But fear not, for there's a simple and delightful solution – a DIY Tattoo Butter Balm. Let's dive into this easy recipe that will not only nourish your skin but also rejuvenate the timeless stories etched on your body.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup shea butter

2 tablespoons coconut oil

1 tablespoon beeswax pellets

1 tablespoon vitamin E oil

10 drops of lavender essential oil

5 drops of chamomile essential oil

3 drops of calendula oil

5 drops rosehip seed oil (optional)

* Note: You can use Herbal Extract instead of Essential Oils

Instructions:

Double Boiler Melting:

In a double boiler, melt shea butter, coconut oil, and beeswax pellets over low heat until fully liquefied.

Crockpot Method:

In a crockpot melt shea butter, coconut oil, and beeswax pellets over low heat until fully liquefied.

Cooling Phase:

Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

Adding Nutrients:

Stir in vitamin E oil, lavender essential oil, chamomile essential oil, and rosehip seed oil (if using). Ensure thorough mixing for an even blend.

Storage Preparation:

Pour the balm into a clean, airtight container or tin.

Solidification:

Allow the balm to solidify at room temperature. This may take a few hours.

Application:

Cleanse the Tattoo:

Gently wash the tattooed area with mild soap and water. Pat it dry with a clean towel.

Apply the Balm:

Using clean fingertips, scoop a small amount of the Tattoo Butter Balm and massage it onto the old tattoo. Ensure complete coverage.

Massage In:

Massage the balm into the tattooed skin using circular motions. This promotes better absorption and stimulates circulation.

Repeat as Needed:

Apply the balm regularly, especially after showers or exposure to harsh weather conditions.

Benefits:

Deep Hydration:

Shea butter and coconut oil deeply moisturize and nourish the skin, preventing dryness and flakiness.

Skin Repair:

Vitamin E oil promotes skin repair, aiding in maintaining the vibrancy of tattooed colors

Soothing Aromatherapy:

Lavender and chamomile essential oils provide a calming and soothing effect, enhancing the overall experience.

Optional Anti-Aging Boost:

Rosehip seed oil, if added, contributes to its anti-aging properties, promoting skin elasticity.

Give your old tattoos the love they deserve with this simple yet effective Tattoo Butter Balm. Embrace the ritual of self-care and celebrate the timeless beauty of your inked stories. Remember, beauty is not just about what you see; it's about how you feel in your own skin.
